We also provide training for school dropouts and young mothers in essential skills such as soap making and tailoring, enabling them to earn a living and better themselves and their families. Additionally, we raise awareness among female students in rural schools about menstrual hygiene, teenage pregnancy and its potential consequences, as well as how to navigate the challenges of growing up as a young girl in a sexist rural setting. This initiative enhances their mental and physical well-being, dismantles stigma, and empowers them to become confident women who contribute positively to their communities and families.
Why menestral health?
In Uganda, a staggering 138 out of every 216 female students frequently miss school due to a lack of menstrual hygiene products, as well as insufficient water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities. Many young women resort to using makeshift items like sponges, rags, or even sand. Others may feel pressured to enter early marriages or engage in exploitative relationships just to secure basic necessities. We have taken the initiative to support these students, aiming to transform lives, uplift communities, and strengthen families.
